Question Couple of puzzling noises on 964 tip

Very faint high pitched noise on the left side rear of car sounds electrical. My mechanic thinks possibly transmission but says doesn't sound like a sound he'd worry about.
The other is a sound almost like an induction noise from the Power Steering Pump. When you turn the steering wheel the noise goes. Fluids fine for P/S and belt seems ok. Any ideas anyone ?

I think you are right about the high pitched sound being electrical. It could be the ignition, i.e coils or igniters. Is the sound in any form changing when changing engine rpm? I have used an old stethoscope in the past to "listen" to the inner heartbeat of the engine.....

Sorry I can't be more specific.
