It always strikes me as odd why someone would put highly reflective aluminum trim rings on their gauges, especially on a Cabriolet.

They are not polished so no reflection. Never been an issue.

A variety of things starting with Xenit to get rid of the Cosmoline, followed by wire brushes, steel wool, and lots of time!
