ticking 99£ c2

Have a 96 C2 993 which is quiet on start up but then develops a pronounced ticking noise , which gets louder as the engine warms up . seems to be loudest when listening underneath rear end between exhausts? Car was serviced with oil change and fault was noticed at approx 200miles after this service. I then checked oil at about 350 miles and found I had to put in a litre of oil which got me on the dipstick. any Ideas what noise may be and or damaged done .Service done by well known and respected independent . :

leak

A lifter may be sticking. This can be common depending on mileage.

Hi, just a suggestion but if you could, take a short video clip of the engine compartment showing the noise you are taking about (incl accelerating) and post it up for us to see/hear.
These cars make lots of different and wonderful noises...... you might get a more concise answer

cheers Mark
