993 engine fan

My 1996 993 seems to do some weird stuff - the cooling fan for the heat exchanger turns on long after I park the car. Is the sensor bad? No codes or engine lite on. Thx

could be many things mine will if it is hot and the car sits a for a while and I turn the key back on to start the car it will vary its speed though.

though I believe that is controled by the ccu plus the temp sensor

You could have a sticky fan relay, a common enough issue. Rap on it with a screwdriver handle while the fan is on after shutting down. If it is sticking, the impact will probably release the relay.

This is very normal.
When you park the car, the temperature rises in the engine compartment.
The temperature sensor could trigger the fan long after you shut the engine off.
