Mystery Loose Wire

I am replacing the distributor caps and rotors on a 1995 993.

When I removed the lower duct housing I found a connector behind the duct which was not connected to anything. It is not the wire going to the temperature sensor on the front of the duct or the connector for the heater coil. The wires going into the connector are red/white and grey/white and it's a 2 prong female connector. I can't find anything close enough to the connector that it could attach to. The only thing it could reach is the back of the duct, but there is nothing on the back of the duct for it to connect to.

I am new at this, but i will try to attach some pics.

Thanks

this is absolutely normal. the wiring harness you have is an updated engine wiring harness, which has a couple of extra plugs for the later model 993 with Varioram. The empty plug is ok, do not worry. It goes into a vacuum solenoid , not on your car model, regards
