90 C4 Convertible top issue

Top operates as normal. While driving the top light in the clock cuts in and out due to road bumps and sets off the main warning lights. Checked connections at the microswitches and seemed fine . Does anyone know which connection tells the idiot light that the top is not completely down?

THis problem might be due to failing solderings in the convertible top control unit. It is known to fail, and it's an easy fix for a guy with some experience with a soldering iron. The copper pegs that form the output connectors are soldered to the PCB, and these can fail and become loose.
Cheers,
Tore

Thanks Tore,

90 control unit is under the dash? 90 if I recall were in a different spot than the 91+ . Will the failure be evident or do I just do them all? - Thanks

Mine did it cause of the micro switch in the top latch motors themself. Made it so it would not operate correctly. Open, but not close. Annoying. Will not annoy me again until it is in another car..

Re-Solder anything that isn't shiny. And then go back and solder them all.

The problem can also be in the clock. Check for loose connections and non-shiny solder joints.
