Need help 993 coilovers
Hi
I want to have lowered look pretty low if I can since the car is a garage queen and rarely driven. What's my best and cost effective way. 1996 c4s All the shocks need replacing. My budget is around 1500. Thanks. |

For your budget I would go with Bilstein Struts and shocks and H&R springs. The springs will lower the front 1.4 and 1.3 in the rear but you can adjust the struts and shocks to the height you like. I just got the same setup for my 91 Turbo.

There are many options but first you need to decide what you want your ride quality to be. Also, if you lower the car much beyond ROW sport height, you will wind up with serious bump steer.
Your budget is about a minimum for parts only. Even if you do the install yourself, you will need a good 4 wheel alignment so factor that into your overall cost.

I'm in the process of putting MO30 springs and bilstiens on my 95 this weekend. On top of alignment cost other cost can arise. I had to grind a eccentric bolt off due to someone just double nutting after stripping the threads. $22. Then one lower control arm was not salvageable. $273 ! And I haven't even got to the front yet !? This is why a lot of people learn to work on their 993. You can afford the labor or the parts not both
