[964] Climate control module isue

Guys, help needed.

Porsche 964 1992 coupe. Climate control gremlins.

What's wrong:
1. Blower is always ON. It blows with 1st gear speed.
2. Closet circuit doesn't work.

I removed the CCU. There is a small blower. It didn't work. I cleaned it. It works when I help it to start. Then it works normally. But about one hour later it doesn't. Anyways, it doesn't help with my issues.

That's the mentioned small blower:

Do you have any ideas what to do?
Thanks!

Blower is always on at low speed in my 90 and that the way it is supposed to be

That little blower you have is shot, there is a thread on Rennlist about adapting a Jaguar climate control motor as the Porsche?Denso is about $300

Very common problem with those

I am sure ToreB will have the answer to the closet circuit...whatever that is in fact you can learn alot about the CCU by going to his site

The CCU fan must be changed into a new part. The magnets weaken over time, and the needle bearings wear out.
Fan speed setting 0 and 1 is the same in the 964. This means that it is not possible to stop the main blower fans with ignition on.

What do you mean by closet circuit?

Cheers,
Tore

Thanks for a reply.

"Closet circuit" - I mean a recirculation button.

The resirc button shall close the mixer and fresh air servos. The main fan blowers will then pull open the spring-loaded resirc flap due the vacuum and to nowhere else to get air from. If the resirc flap does not open you probably have a problem with one of the above mentioned servos. THis is a common problem, the servos wear out.
Cheers,
Tore
