Put new dizzy in. Now won't fire

Bought a used distributor with supposedly 75k miles. Belt looks new. Installed it in car tonight with engine at TDC and rotor's pointed in correct location. Kranks but no start ? Are there some electrical parts that could be bad ? Any insight appreciated. I just installed my old now it won't work. I must've done something wrong ? Car was running fine just wanted to put in a less worn dizzy. Double checked to see if alls in correct position. Rotor's point correct and TDC mark is lined up ? I'm stumped?

Please make sure you are TDC on the compression stroke. You could possibly be 360 degrees off.

Thank you for responding ! The notch is lined up to mark on fan housing. I didn't take off negative battery cable when swapping dizzy's. Could I have blown something ?

There are 2 TDC per cycle. One is the compression TDC, the other is the exhaust TDC. Are you sure you installed the dizzy using the compression TDC, if not there are no fuel/air in the cylinder to ignite.

Thanks. I'll double check that I'm on the correct mark. My car is a early build 95. I don't have the Z1 mark.

It's always the simple stuff that stumps me. I advanced to the next notch on the pulley and it fired right up. I'm going to have to put some nail polish on that mark to abort future brain farts. Thanks for guidance. To bad I'm in Oklahoma. I'd buy you a beer if I were in Maple Bay BC.

You need to understand the complete 720, 360, 180 degree rotation of crank before ever attempting DIY valve adjusting.... Z1 on my 94' was a small and stamped on outer edge lip of pulley and hard to see(not inside where belt rides)... Bright light and looking close may pick it up...
