993 high idle

I am finishing up a project a 78SC with a 1995 Non-Varioram engine. The car runs great except we cannot get it to idle at less than 2800 RPMs. We have double checked everything and cannot figure it out. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance John Szabo

another vote for double checking the linkage.

recently did an engine transplant, had a high idle. When we reconnected the throttle linkage it was stretched and the throttle was open a hair giving us a 2000 RPM idle until we sorted it out. easy fix. hopefully this is all it is.
