996 Manual Transmission drain plug

On a 996 2000 Carrera C2, I was working on replacing the manual transmission/diff fluid. On removing the drain plugs to drain the old fluid, one of the plugs was slightly damaged, so I ordered two new plugs (and added Al seal washers) from Pelican Parts.

My old drain/fill plugs were made of steel, but the parts I received for part 900-219-001-30-OEM were aluminum, which surprised me. My concern is running into any issues removing the plugs in the future with the softer aluminum. I ended up leaving my drain plug as the old steel version (adding aluminum sealing washer) but I put a new aluminum plug in the fill position (with aluminum washer). I torqued each to ~20ft-lbs of torque, similar to the engine oil drain plug.

Has anyone else replaced their steel manual transmission drain or fill plugs with aluminum versions? Any concerns with this strategy?

Thanks!

Just buy magnetic drain plugs from LN Engineering, Win-Win!
