ICarsoft 2 for Porsche 996

Hello,

I own a 2003 911 Turbo manual which now consistently turns on PSM/ABS light on.

I suspect a front right wheel sensor wiring but I'd like to read the error message first before I start cutting wiring and throwing parts at it.

I have a ICarsoft 2 reader which supposedly has the ability to read PSM and ABS modules.

It talks to ECU as normal but main screen doesn't even have PSM listed. It has ABS but it won't establish communication.

Only thing I haven't tried yet is "live feed" function which I assume is OBD2 data.

To get to the point, has anyone used ICarsoft 2 to diagnose PSM light on 996TT?

Thank you.

Never mind, just got a reply from the manufacturer saying they don't have much support for Porsches this old.

Off to see if Durametric can read it and who can loan it out.

Finding the abs/psm problem without a diag tool is........complicated.

The problem can be abs sensors , low battery , abs pump sensor , airflow meter , brake pedal sensor and.............wheel angle calibration , that was this in my case , due to a battery change .

I've a durametric pro and it not find the problem , piwis yes.

What a pain. Mine would come on once every couple of months, then go away next time I would restart the car.

Then I replaced strut mounts and it started coming on as soon as the car would move more than a few meters. So I suspect the wiring to one of the front wheel sensors.

When you say "wheel angle calibration" you mean steering wheel angle?

Does the PSM warning have to be ON to be read by Durametric or piwis? Or is it stored in history?

Yes mate , steering wheel angle , sorry.

The psm /abs fault is stored in the history.
