996 oil suction tube bolt sizes

I'm putting my 996 engine back together and I'm a bit perplexed by what seems to be a mismatch in what the Porsche manuals say and what I see in front of me. Specifically, if we refer to picture 5 from the Pelican Parts tech article on installing a deep sump, the bolts that have arrows are the ones I'm about the re-install.

On page 30 of the Porsche parts catalog from Porsche says that the bolts with the yellow arrows are 6x20. No problem with that. But it also says that the bolts with the green arrows are 6x12 and on my engine, that's just too short to even engage the threads. When I put 6x20 bolts in there, it all seems quite solid and correct.

So why does my 2000 engine not match Porsche's catalog? And what's the right size bolt?
