High milage 997 question
Looking to buy a 997 or 997S as a DD. I happen to drive a lot, and will be piling the milage on. Thus I am not looking for a cream puff. I am looking for a good, clean, straight example. The question is would you be afraid to buy a high milage example +60k miles? The follow up question is what common problems should I be on the lookout for and how reliable are they? Thanks for the insight.

I wouldn't consider 60k miles high mileage. The 2005-2008 997s have a (small) possibility of Intermediate Shaft Bearing (IMS) failure. Also, water pumps should be swapped out every 60,000 miles or so as they are known to have impeller blades that can crack and break off.
They appear to be pretty reliable, I wouldn't hesitate to use one as a daily and rack up the miles. Get a Pre Purchase Inspection (PPI) on any car before you buy.

These cars (the 997's) are quite bullet-proof. With proper records, I would not hesitate to buy a post 60K 997.....I have a nice 62K 997 C2S that is just 110% perfect....!
Best of luck! Tom
