I joined the 996 Turbo league today

Wife and I purchased a 2001 996 turbo today. 47k miles. Car is immaculate. Interior looks and smells brand new. Just a few rock chips on the front, otherwise, paint is immaculate. Lots of reading and learning to do. Still reading up on the specs, etc.

We basically bought this in anticipation of its value going up in the next 10 years or so (kinda like a painting or raw land). I convinced her by stating how the 993 Turbo is worth twice that of a 996 Turbo now and that the 996 Turbo is next to appreciate. I hope I'm right. If this goes up as I predicted, she might let me get a red Ferrari next as the this-will-go-up-in-value-next. Wish me luck.

Buy it to enjoy, then the upside, if any, is all gravy. With that said, I don't think the 996tt will appreciate like the 993tt.

What a Beauty! Enjoy it, don't worry about resale. You are going to like it so much you will never sell it.

This is why I'm guessing that it's the right time to buy it now while people still believe this way.

I like the 996TT and plan on picking one up later this year. However, buying one in hopes of appreciation is a crap shoot.

There were a total of 1909 993TT's built during the total production run (not including the S model)

There were 5324 996TT's built in 2001 ALONE! (total of 16,965 coupes excluding cabriolets and other variants)

It's all about the numbers and desirability.....which an air cooled turbo wins hands down.

So, enjoy your car but don't make it part of your retirement plan!

Did you get it from Private Collection Motors in Costa Mesa? Look like it. I am looking at one there now.
