Static....here's a quote from the POC bbs on 8/31:

"...According to the POC office we have 36 students on Saturday, 28 on Sunday, and a total of 70 signed up for the timed runs on Sunday."

Should be a fun school.....why not stick around on Sunday and get 2 days in your NEW POC drivers log book?....

I would love to Johnny, but I can't disappear for an entire weekend from the family (especially the weekend before school starts). I'll have to wait until Nov. to do the next STS.

But I'm going to sneak in an OTR event later this month

Johnny is that 70 people TOTAL for tomorrow? That rocks, I thought it would be far more crowded.

It will be pretty hot but actually about the same temp as home, and lower humidity, so I'm hoping it's not too brutal. At home I always have the option of coming indoors to the A/C...

Loaded and ready to roll out at O'Dark Thirty. See ya there. BTW the loud orange 914-6 #214 is me. I usually pit towards the far end.

I had fun today:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=181096

Wasn't too hot, but there was talk of temps going up for tomorrow. I think they said 100 for Sunday (both number of cars and thermometer).

Yep, I actually made it (woohoo!)

It was an "OK" day for me. That beats a "bad" day at the track, by far. It was too effin' hot and sunny, but we knew that going in.

My car did pretty well other than a needle valve failing and causing one of the carb barrels to completely fill up w/ gas. Needless to say the car did not run well in this mode. Fortunately -- as was the case with several other cars as well -- Otto was there with his "mobile shop" and was able to diagnose and repair the carb in the pits.

The event was, well, "uneventful" in terms of major breakdowns or crashes as far as I know. Surprisingly, there were 100+ people driving and numerous track (class) records were broken despite the heat! I am still about 4 secs slower than my V4 class rival and am unclear whether seat time OR car upgrades can fully close that gap. The POC rules are just not kind to 914's. Or should I say, non-911's?

The 914 turnout was impressive and also humbling. The "Spec 914" (CI class) crew was there and were turning times almost as quick as me in their nearly-stock 2.0 four bangers. Superb driving and car setup clearly pay off especially when you can't make up for sloppiness with power or gobs of mechanical grip.

I shot a few pics which I'll post a bit later. Right now it's time to eat and relax!

Well...a great day to hit the track, and also a wonderful day if you've got your cool-shirt and a couple big blocks of ice to use

I was pitted just to the right and inside of the pit exit...the red 911 #702 with the IROC wing. Saw alot of smiling faces inspite of the heat. My car ran great with the new engine and trans...and I found out that I'm a V2 car now.....or I can possibly add weight and go JP and compete with the 84-89 Carrera's.

I was impressed at the sheer number of students in the yellow & white run groups...wow...alot of you guys are serious in wanting to take it off the street ...and that's good!!!

I ran in orange and my best time was 1:15.20 & 1:15.78....alot of 1:16.xx Unfortunately, I didn't run those 15's during timed runs....must have been fatigue...??? Best timed run was a 1:16.07

Great day...POC runs a great event and the level of competition is intense !!!!

Hope everyone had as much fun as I did.!!
