need better instructor/student intercom
We primarily use the Nady pmc-2 intercoms for instructor to student communication. The problem is these coms only last for about 6-8 events, then either the intercom itself, or the headset/mic systems, quit working. I now tape the plugs into the intercom unit and they still only last 6-8 weekends. I have about 5 of them, and after switching around parts I have no functional combination left. They also pick up a lot of wind noise/ squeal, etc. I can communicate better with my radios, but I need a hardwired system with a headseat the student can use. The local clubs group buy the intercom for $40-50, so I can't complain about the price, but I am looking for a better quality system both for me and my students. Any ideas??
Thanks Gary Chappel |

Chatterbox is the way to go. Far superior to the Nady with absolutely zero issues/problems as long as you remember to charge it up prior to an event. They became the standard with PCA/GGR a couple of years ago.

I've heard some really good reports on the Terratrip intercom systems. They are a little on the pricy side, but good quality. They are popular in the Rally racing crowd.
