Number of Roll Bar bends allowed?
For SCCA/POC/PCA how many roll bar bends are allowed in the main and only hoop? To get mine tight to the roof and B pilar I think I need 5 bends.

There was an interesting thread about this awhile back. Maybe a month. I hope you can find it. Someone had purchased a Safety Devices bar and it was deemed illegal.
Anyway, the consensus was 4 that were allowed. |

Gee SCCA_ita;
I would of suspected that you of all people would have had a copy of the GCR (General Competition Rules) to reference. I posted the SCCA cage specs on this thread. You can also just download the entire 2005 SCCA GCR from the SCCA Web Site on-line. The GCR will detail exactly what your cage or roll bar must and must not be.

Hi John,
Sad to say (or happy to say) I have not been running SCCA for at least 8 years. I ran in the DC region for almost 10 years then brought my car to San Diego in 96. Went to look at Holtville (ug) - came home and sold the car the following week. Thanks for the info......PCA and POC seem to be OK with 5 bends... |
