Why don't you have a metal "shoebox" container around your ATL plastic cell?

What's inside besides foam , hose and sock pickups? You have a slosh box/trap door in there?
I'm a big fan of the universal cells. I have an ATL Sport cell in 15 gal size that suits my '79 just fine. I see no reason to dump a couple grand on one of the cells that is a glove fit in the original tank location. Because if you ever have to replace the bladder (technically expires in 5 yrs) then you're looking at nearly another couple grand. Screw that noise........ You obviously have good fabrication skills. Fab a mount to fit a universal/shoebox cell and better spend your hard earned money elsewhere!

yes all of this is there. Im sure I can fab a box to go around and bolt in in place. But fo rnow I can keep testing and fine tune the car and brakes. I was thinking of the ATL cell that fits right in with fuel gage and lower cover to fill the hole. car is so close to being done should get her all done in the next few weeks. Well I hope as I am entering it in a classic car show on aug,17-19 in Raleigh NC. |

all done
well I got it all done. Even had a chance to bring it to a classic car show this past weekend. here is a photo of it at the show.
I am getting one issue at full throttle- it seems to lose power, have to check fuel pressure. Hope you all like. Thank you everyone for support and some tech info, Thank you Wayne for letting me put this here and sharing with everyone. Tons of great people on this site.

Very nice, Shawn! Love it! Sounds great too.
I was looking back through the thread to see if you mentioned what class this build was for....if any. Was there a certain class this was built for or is a track car for your own enjoyment (DE's)?

I didnt build it for any special class, it is a daily driver and DE, Hill climb racing. Not sure what class it would fall under for road racing. VIR is very close by and I just wanted a car i can goto the track and have fun.
