Hoosier 275/35ZR17 A6 tires on a narrow body?

Guys,

Hoosier recently announced the offering of their A6 tires in 275/35ZR17 sizes:

Hoosier Tire

I believe this size could work with narrow body cars running 17" wheels, without much modifications. What are your thoughts on using Hoosier A6s for autocross & DE on heavier car (2700 lbs +) ?

I am not an expert, and your results may be different but I absolutely cannot fit anything wider than 275/40 17 in back or 245/40 17 in front in Hoosier R6 in my narrowbody SC.

Sorry - I should have been clearer:

1. I was thinking about these only for the rear - not fronts

2. Typically, you can only get a 275/40 size tire for a 17" rim. With a shorter side wall, I think these will be easier to fit in the rear.

If you've already made the necessary mods to fit 275/40s in the rear, then this will probably not benefit you as much as those who have not.

;-) I hope the A6s have better wet performance than the R6s, which are *od*amn teflon in the wet ;-)

It's the width of the 275 on a narrow body that requires the mods (flattening the oil lines and shaving springplate bolts), not the height. This new tire should require the same mods but the shorter sidewall will be nice.
