68 911L track car
I have a beautiful 68L vintage race car. Log book, clean title and it's matching numbers. Car has been a race car from the 80's to 03. Running GT3 class in scca and HRS. This car is fully set up.
I'm in the process of getting fresh paint and engine refreshed. Body is super clean not rotten. Never been stored outside. It's just super clean. The car had some flares added in rear and is running fiberglass fenders, custom made door skins, newer style rear bumper. So I need some thoughts from you Should I leave car as it is with the body and bumpers or change some things to make it more correct. The car will be for sale when I'm done. ![]()

I'm looking for some recomadations to keep good value on this car. I know factory doors and quarters would be best but it's not so much in my budget. Would at least correct bumpers and paint be a good thing. Not trying to make it a street car. But it's a matching numbers short wheel base car.
Any help would be great. Thanks |

Is it still a SWB car, or have the trailing arms been changed?
The best market for this car if it is too modified to be returned to a street car I would think would be a correct 2.0L vintage race car. The 901 shop in Florida makes some nice composite early 911 rear quarters that would fix that aspect and changing the rear bumper back to the early style would be a good start I think. Why did you not butt weld the rear flares?

They are fiberglass.
The car was raced with them riveted on so i keep it as it was but just went wider. |
