FS: 1986 944 Turbo - $7500

88k miles, Guards Red with Linen (tan) leather interior, sunroof. Clean, low mileage 951. Runs perfectly, fast, fun, and reliable. I had the car inspected in August of 2007 by Greff Motors in Louisiana, and that report comes with the car. There’s a readable picture of it in the photo link. FYI, I fixed most of the problems they list, like the coolant tank and AC mix flap clip.

It’s a Southern car, I just brought it up to Michigan last year and I stored it in the winter, so it’s never seen snow or salt. Paint is very good, there are some scratches and scuffs, but nothing major. The shop that inspected it for me found some evidence of minor bodywork, but it must have been very well done, because I can’t tell. Mostly stock except for some boost and exhaust mods. I added VDO boost and oil pressure gauges in a Lindsey Racing mount plate in the console, though I never got around to connecting the oil pressure gauge. The factory one still works fine and shows good pressure. In summary:

The good:
• Runs great, uses no oil or coolant, is fast and fun, gets 25+ MPG
• Compression check shows 140psi in all cylinders
• Very good paint, a few nicks and scratches, but nice gloss. 8/10.
• Good clutch
• Very clean interior, minor wear on driver’s seat
• Southern car, never seen snow or salt, no rust anywhere
• Clean Carfax (VIN: WP0AA0957GN155500)
• Low miles (88k), odometer works fine
• Working power sunroof
• Eclipse CD/MP3 player
• Weltsmier chips, Lindsey MBC, 3 bar FPR, shimmed factory wastegate
• VDO boost and oil pressure gauges in Lindsey mount plate
• A/C converted to R134a, works great
• Aftermarket stainless muffler, no catalytic converter, sounds very healthy
• Bridgestone Potenza tires with plenty of tread
• Fully inspected by a Porsche shop in 2007, no major problems

The bad:
• Front bumper/fascia is faded a bit
• Typical 944 dash cracks
• Rear hatch carpet has some wear spots
• Rear hatch sticks a bit and the struts are marginal
• Airbox mounting tabs are broken
• Small oil leak at the oil filter housing

Asking $7500 or best. No trades, please. Car is located in Brighton, MI. Contact me at tspangle “at” att “dot” net. More pictures available at: http://s322.photobucket.com/albums/nn412/tspangle84/944%20Turbo/
