![]() 1978 911SC Euro turbo conversion, emerald green, tan cloth interior, power windows and sunroof. Keyless entry with aftermarket alarm system. Although not a dedicated track car, it has received all necessary performance and safety upgrades for track use with DE's and club racing. 87,6XX miles on chassis and 3,000 miles on 1992 C2 turbo engine since rebuild. Engine rebuild (at 72K miles use) included new rings and top end. Corner balanced and weighs in at 2870lbs. Upgrades to engine include K27 turbo, 1 bar spring, larger intercooler and full GHL stainless exhaust. Other upgrades include Centerforce high performance clutch and flywheel and Big Red brake conversion. Details and photos found at: FOR SALE: 1978 Porsche 911 SC. Contact John at 706 380-6807 or hilandscott@gmail.com . $24,000 OBO. (Track wheels w/ new Toyo RA1's sold separately). **March 29th update** Goldcrest Motorsports completed vehicle inspection and dyno tuning of the A/F mixture this week. This 911 has been serviced and is ready for immediate track use. Take advantage of the spring DE and get into an amazing car. The C2 turbo engine and 915 transmission (as well as chassis/safety/suspension) have a clean bill of health from the guys at Goldcrest. If you are a fan of the early synchromesh gearbox-- shorter gears with faster acceleration-- this could be the car for you. It is not a car for the timid, so if the earlier body style and raw feel and performance are what you are looking for, it is worth a test drive. P.S. This is a 'rattlsnak' 911, his former DE car as an instructor at Road Atlanta. Although Marc has built a few cars since, this car holds a special place as the fastest he has built (which includes a few 3.6L swaps into earlier SWB cars.

Compiling the recent history of this 911, with these threads to start (this photo from Road Atlanta):
![]() Between 2002 and 2003 Marc decided to part with his 911 racer to start another 911 project, and I was looking for a turn key 911 to track so the timing was right. Since 2003 I have averaged one DE each year until 2007, so less than six events at Road Atlanta and Barber combined. The 911 has been an occasional weekend car and has seen only sunny days since 2007. Marc posted this thread from Road Atlanta in 2002: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/86275-pics-road-atlanta-today.html At the time I met Marc I was building my own hot rod 911 and just completed the engine and transmission rebuild. I was 70% to my goal of power/weight and was about to lighten with fiberglass, when it was clear I needed to sell my car and buy this 911 as complete and track ready. Marc had already been through various engine modifications when he settled on a 1992 C2 turbo as the powerplant. Marc has this site with a bit of early history: 911 SC

Item number 290539908800.
The BIN price of $26K reflects car minus track wheels, Toyo RA1s and lightly used Hoosier race slicks, for the daring. The bolt-in roll bar can be unbolted for easy access and use of rear seats. Here is the item listing on Ebay:

Asking price dropped to $24,000, reflecting the Ebay reserve when listed.
Paint chip on engine cover where previous owner left tool in the locking mechanism and preceeded to close the hood. Less than the size of a quarter. Paint on hood and front bumper/splitter in very good condition in spite of track use. Driver's seat has tear in outboard bottom bolster, and passenger seat has small bare spot in bottom seat cover (about the size of a quarter, has not grown in size since taking ownership). No curb rash on wheels, door dings or fender blemishes. Feel free to PM with any other questions or needs for photos. In very good condition for a 33 year old Porsche. In addition to dash controlled air flow and blower, there is a center mounted control from "climate control" factory option that operates additional air circulation in cabin. -- John

A BIG thanks to Steve Cosgrove and team at Goldcrest. Customer service was fantastic. I highly receommend them even if you don't own a Cayman S or GT3
This 911 has a clean bill of health: engine, transmission, body/suspension and safety equipment. The car has been fully serviced. While we were at it they also put the car on the dyno to fine tune the A/F mixture and verify performance from the C2. 300 ft/lb produced at the wheels, amounting to 360-370 ft/lb (depending on factor of 16-18% driveline loss to wheels). 275rwhp documented in sheet to follow. Steve seemed to appreciate the opportunity to drive this car, with its unique combination of lighter weight, short gearing and additional power. His comment sums it up well: "Must be a blast to drive at the track." Indeed it is. Dyno sheets to be posted when available. Happy Spring everyone!

I had a few messages this weekend that the dyno sheet wasn't viewing properly for some reason.
Here it is again, and thanks to those that brought it to my attention: Happy Easter Pelicanites ![]()
