1987 1/2 944 Turbo (951) Low Mileage 74,263, $3,500 obo
FOR SALE
1987 ½ Porsche 944 Turbo (951) in Frederick, MD $3,500 obo 74, 263 miles (Very low mileage for almost 30 yr old car) Black (Original paint) FACTORY SPECS 2+2 Coupe 2.5 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine HP: 220 @ 6000rpm Torque: 242 ft-lb @3500rpm 5 Speed manual transmission Brakes: Turbo “Black” Curb Weight: 2998 lbs Clean CarFax. AFTERMARKET 18” 3 piece Simmons wheels Chipped Aftermarket exhaust Boost pressure regulator (doesn’t raise max. pressure but allows max. pressure to kick in earlier) HKS blow-off valve (best sound! High pitch squeal almost like a steam engine) Aftermarket light kit. Looks original, just MUCH brighter. K&N Air filter Steel bezel on instrument cluster Pro-Comp boost pressure gauge and stoichiometer (Air-fuel ratio) Pioneer DEH-8200R stereo Two 8 inch subwoofers in box and two amps, one dedicated to subwoofers Viper alarm system +++ Set of 17” 911 rims that fit just as well ISSUES Does not have a battery Does not start even with a battery (though it does crank) Broken driver’s side mirror. Parking brake light is always on Dent on the back rear above bumper Lock broken for back hatch therefore doesn’t open Some cracking on dash (See photos) Tires are all flat and flat spotted Paint slight faded, especially roof but all excellent considering original paint Some exterior seals cracked. No emblem STORY I purchased this car in about 2007 with about 65,000 miles on it. I know it had at least two owners before me. I purchased it from a gentlemen in NJ who told me it once a show car for a garage (hence the rims and beefed out sound system. Even had a crappy 5 inch LCD screen in the passenger visor). It came to me with a chip already installed (I believe it is an Autothority stage one), Borla exhaust, HKS relief valve (Best sounding relief valve I have heard. Really nice squeal when you lift. Sounds almost like a locomotive), K&N air filter, and a boost regulator that brings on maximum boost earlier. I have never dynoed it but it definitely pulls harder than any stock 951 I have ever sat in. My guess is 280 hp, (250 to the wheels or so). The only thing that I did to it besides regular maintenance was install a light kit that I found through a Pelican Parts forum. It was a German kit using a higher voltage wiring harness that looks OEM but shines SUPER BRIGHT. In 2010, my wife got pregnant, I got busy and the car just never got used. The battery went out, I didn’t bother replacing it. Then I did replace it, but it didn’t fire (though it did crank). I put off trying to figure out why, long story short, it hasn’t been driven in 5 years and I’ve finally given up on hoping that I’ll get to it someday. Probably not the best car for a novice mechanic/Porsche owner but very low mileage internals. Does need to be towed hence the low price. Exterior Photos
