First by increasing the wheelbase 2.25 inches by shifting the rear wheels back, thus improving weight distribution, and then by bringing back the S and equipping it with fuel injection. The 911S was again the ultimate Porsche and used a stout 9.9-to-1 compression ratio to knock out a thrilling 190 horsepower that it piped through its own aggressively geared five-speed transmission. The '69 is the best of the 2.0-liter 911s (Car and Driver had a 911S rip to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds). It remains one of the most desirable years for the 911, and the 911S sits at the top of the pyramid. Classic looks, excellent handling, and sparkling performance have earned the 1969 911S a unique place in collectors' hearts. Here we have a extraordinary–and likely unrepeatable–opportunity to own a 3-owner 1969 911S in an extremely rare color. Crystal Blue, special order body color #6825, was only specified on two known 911S coupes for this year. Starting from a very dry original car, a thorough restoration was completed using many NOS and original reconditioned parts. At the start of the restoration, the engine was inspected and found to be in excellent condition, however it was rebuilt by a marque expert and runs superbly with currently no more than a couple of hundred break-in miles. It includes the original rebuilt MFI setup, with everything working as from the factory. The transmission was rebuilt and the suspension was completely refreshed to as-new condition including the original 1969 Koni shocks in the correct early red color, fresh cadmium plated hardware and freshly painted control arms and rack support. The bushings and ball joints are new, and the lower extremities are in the proper finish which has been seal painted as done by the factory. The brake components are freshly restored and original including the early alloy fronts. The car includes the original five deep six Fuchs wheels with "hearts" restored as from the factory, mounted with five new Michelin XWX. On the body side, replaced metal components include both front fenders, one of which was NOS, the outer rockers and a patch area in the rear left seat bottom. The paint is correct single-stage Glasurit and is stunning. The interior and much of the assembly was done over a period of two years by the Paterek Brothers in Chatham, N.J. The carpet is new and includes the proper bubble backing. The headliner is new, the sun visors are incredibly well-preserved originals. The seats were rebuilt using the original covers to proper specifications. The lovely interior includes a new injection molded dash with proper '69 speaker cover, and the original dealer- installed Blaupunkt Frankfurt AM/FM/SW. All gauges were freshly restored by Palo Alto Speedometer. Factory options include blue-tinted windows and a right side outside mirror. Car comes with the original build sheet, bill of sale, window sticker, books and a stack of receipts that date back to new. The new owner will not be disappointed and will have one of the very best and rarest color 1969 911S in existence. Price is $300,000 OBO 5% buyers premium Contact: brianach@gmail.com Photos: Brian Ach Photography, Inc. | 1969 Crystal Blue Porsche 911s ![]() ![]() ![]()
