914 for sale, clean title, CA registered, super fun driving 914!
![]() Yours for $9,250 1972 Porsche 914, 1.7 D-jet, with lots of performance and appearance upgrades. I am the second owner; the original owner was a truck driver in the Santa Cruz mountains who was dealing with cancer and sold it to me in 2005 with a seized engine and lots of floorpan rust from leaking window seals. The original color is silver, and the wheels are American Racing alloy 15x6 with cone seat lugs. The previous owner made those changes in the 1980s. The car had been in a minor accident in the 1980s, front left, and it still has a small dent in the fender lip and the front bumper. Below is a chronological list of work done to create and maintain this awesome machine as it evolved from daily driver, weekend autocross racer, weekend cafe racer, and back to commute duties over the last 12 years under my care. The list below serves to both justify the asking price of the car and was fun to put together 2005-2006 at Bill’s Garage in Emeryville Engine replaced with a used 1.7 TIV from EASY Drivers floor pan replaced with OEM quality stamped floorpan Front and rear fuel lines replaced Windshield replaced Engine and brakes tuned-up 2006-2008 SUSPENSION Koni yellow adjustable shocks 911 turbo tie rods New ball joints Shine Racing needle bearing front and rear suspension bushings, with grease fittings for maintenance Paragon adjustable rear spring perches with 175 lbs Eiback springs Entire front suspension replaced with black, powder coated pieces from a 1975 914 BBS Racing studs installed to replace lug bolts with studs + lug nuts TRANSAXLE - SHIFTING Rennshifter installed Rebuild side shifter transaxle installed with flipped 5th gear in place of 3rd 12 lb flywheel All shift linkage bushings replaced OTHER JWest Engineering fuse panel JWest Engineering rear trunk pivot JWest Engineering fog light/driving light module Camp 914 Pilot light upgraded driving lights Weltmeister tuna can oil sump on engine 2008-2015 EXHAUST: used, ceramic coated Eurorace 4->1 racing header 1 5/8 diameter tubing, O2 port welded downstream from collector, added flow master style muffler with exhaust at OEM location GUAGE CLUSTER:refurbished gauge cluster; black powder coated backing, spun aluminum outer rings, re-painted needles, cleaned glass, replaced/fixed odometer gear, replaced all gauge lights with OEM bulbs custom DIY cold-air, high-flow intake with Green Filter USA washable air filter custom DIY carbon fiber shifter extension and shift knob 914 Rubber speaker pods with Polk/Momo speakers replaced engine relay board with 100% working part from BD Stone new seals from 914 Rubber- windshield, window, rear trunk, and dash new Bosch two-tone horn 2015 -2016 new Throttle Position Sensor board from 914 Rubber new black loop carpet kit from 914 Rubber new shift linkage cover from 914 Rubber New Bosch alternator New Optima Red-Top battery rebuilt front calipers from PMB Performance new Porterfield RS-4 brake pads from PMB new braided brake lines, fluid, speed bleeders from PMB 2017 new front rotors from PMB new front wheel bearings new rear wheel bearings new door cards from 914 Rubber I owe superfluous gratitude to all the folks on forums like, and including, Pelican for their advice and guidance during an unforgettable ownership experience.
