Key Deactivation
I recently received the Porsche Warranty Update (with new warranty cards). It said that all Porsches after five days will deactivate the key remote to save power. The Remote will not work after five days at all.
To reactivate the remote you are supposed to unlock the car with the key then with the remote turn off the alarm. If you open the door after using the key and do not deactivate alarm with remote the alarm goes off. I have verified this with my 2000 Boxster. However in my 2005 Cayenne this does not seem to be the case. Does anyone's car disable the key remote after five days? Thanks. I'm just wondering if I may have an electrical issue.
