2006 Turbo

I picked this up from a dealer today, so I thought I'd share some pics with the group. 2006, one owner and only 13,000 miles... Quite a change from my daily driver for the past 11 years ('80 SC). Now I can take my SC off the road for a while and tweak it a little

Just patience. I was originally looking for a 2008 GTS with approximately the same mileage, so when this came up at a significantly better price I jumped at it.

Very nice!

I have an '06 CTT as well that is my daily driver.. I never thought I'd be buying another car without a manual transmission, but after driving it, I knew it was my new DD.

Congrats and enjoy driving it!

What are your initial thoughts? I am in between PCars and my wife says that the Cayenne will be in the garage before any other PCar as HER daily driver. We need to always have an SUV, so I will comply this time

Would like your thoughts on comfort, guages, switches, acceleration, towing (if you have done it yet or will), comparison's to other SUV's you have had or driven etc.,?

Thanks a bunch!

Mat

acceleration?? LOTS of it! Pretty quick trucks, even faster with a software tune.

Congrats on the new ride.

We bought a '05 Turbo a few months back. My wife's daily driver. She went from an '03 Boxster to the Cayenne (with reservations). She says it feels like a big car. Much faster, better handling and a tighter turning radius than the Boxster.
We bought it to tow an enclosed trailer and race car. I recently towed the trailer (with car) from the S.F. Bay Area to Santa Fe, N.M. It towed great. The only down side is the lousy gas mileage when towing. I was averaging 8 m.p.h. cruising at 65 m.p.h. On the plus side it's very comfortable.

With only 3 days driving my main impressions are fantastic acceleration and fairly good handling for something so massive. IT feels REALLY big after driving my 911SC for so long. Inside finish is good and very comfortable, though for a 2006 model I think that the electronics/swtichgear are cluttered and dated. PCM 2.1 seems about 5 years behind many of the Japanese nav/audio options. Pity I can't upgrade to PCM 3.0. I haven't towed anything yet as I have no towing hitch and my local Porsche dealership wants to charge me $1800 to supply and fit one. Anyone on the list got a cheaper option? I could probably fit one myself with the necessary instructions...

8 mph really aint bad while towing a loaded trailer. Our chevy dually gets about 4-5 with a loaded trailer, and isnt near as nice.

Man, compared to the dually your right. I was surprised, compared to towing an open aluminum trailer and race car (3300 lbs) with our '03 Eurovan we were getting around 14-15. The enclosed trailer & car weigh around 5600 lbs.

Hi Stealthn. I sure do prefer drving the CTT instead of my SC in the miserable Seattle weather. It's nice to actually see where I am going for a change...
