Oil change and cayenne ??
I just did an oil change at a euro dealer that does a lot of cayennes . The guys told me that they did not need to suck out the oil via the dipstick. I thought it was not possible to drain the oil from under??? Am I missing something?

Yes, you are missing something. There are two drain plugs. The belly pan will need to be removed(its a plastic under engine cover). I use a Mahle Oil filter, the same a dealer will probably use with an O-Ring and 9 qts of oil. Do some more searches on this. There is a lot of info on this. It takes me about an 1 1/2 hours. I'm anal.

When reading The web ( Rennlist etc ....) there is always talk about the necessity to bring the cayenne to dealer to have the oil extracted. This idea is so present that my previous mechanic ( who is great) told me that he is not able to do the oil change on my cayenne. The way I understand even jiffilube could do it ( no I am not going to try

It used to take me an hour now about 45 minutes enjoying the process.
It is very easy, removing the ABS slid plate and side pieces, drain the sump (there is a second drain plug up 4 or so inches higher) this is a design feature to prevent oil starvation when the Cayenne is being driven at extreme angles off road. Changing you Cayenne oil is like anything, it becomes easier and easier the more time done. And definitely change it at about 5500 miles or sooner due to ethanal in fuels as i have advised. This advise came to me from the lead Tech at my local Porsche dealer who is a Cayenne expert. Great, great motor so change the oil frequently. Healthy Porsche motors still allow some fuel past the valves and into the oil supply. Ethanol can build up in the oil and "wash out the cylinder of its oil". This is seen in Cayenne which have missed oil services and gone 15k miles or so without a change. You can smell fuel in your old oil when changing it.

so to be safe I will have the oil changed every 6500 miles..... thanks to all for the feedback!

Curious.
What do the dealers usually charge for an oil change? Fixer, I hear you about being underneath a vehicle-a special one-and enjoying the sites.
