Key Fob change and alarm going off?

Hi there
The other day I misplaced my main key for my '05 Turbo. I got out my spare and nothing unusual. remote worked and I was on my way.

Today I found the main key and used it. When I unlocked the car the alarm went off. Now every time I unlock or lock the car the alarm goes off. Usually cycling thru lock and unlock a time or 2 will stop the alarm. the panic button doesn't seem to be part of the issue. it works on its own and starts and stops.

I changed back to the spare and using it does not set the alarm off.

Both batteries have 3V or better.
Any ideas what happened?

thanks
Lance

Try this: Put the key in the driver door lock, turn the key to unlock (do not lift handle), pull key out of the lock, press the unlock button on the remote. Open the door.

See if it works like normal.

Thanks Flintstone
I didn't get a chance to try this.
now the bad remote does not do any wireless functions. even with a new battery.
it does unlock the door and the alarm doesn't go off. better than nothing and the same thing my 996 remotes do.
maybe I have a virus:-) I hope the last remote for the Cayenne doesn't come down with it.
