Just back from Zuffenhausen - 911 and Cayenne info

My wife and I just got back from a trip to Europe seeing the sights as any tourist would do. We started in Milan, up through the lake region of Switzerland to Stuttgart, then to Munich, Salzburg, and back down through Innsbruck to Milan. What a great time. The Alps are spectacular. Driving on the Autobahn was kinda cool too. Its nice to cruise about 150 kmh (~95 for those metrically challenged) with no worries except those pesky bimmers in the left lane. If only that rental minivan would have gone faster than 170 kmh. believe me I tried.

The best part was the trip to Zuffenhausen and the Porsche factory/museum. Lots of history in that building. I liked the 962s, 917s and of course, Porsche #1. The RSK was pretty cool as well. After the museum we went across the street to the dealership. Wow, what a place. three levels of P-cars. There were several 996-GT3 variants there. Only 180K Euro. Shoulda brought my checkbook .

The funniest thing at the dealership was the new Cayenne. They liked it so much they had to cover it up.

Ok they really did not have one but it was funny.

I also saw pictures of the next generation 911 in a magazine. Totally new headlights. They were round and reminded my of a hybrid 993/968. Hey at least they were round. Too bad my pockets were empty when I saw that magazine.

Now they just need to dig a big enough hole to bury it.

Thumbs up

That's almost the same exact trip I just got back from. There must have been several pelicanites in the area at about the same time.

What an awesome place! My first time in the dealership a salesman showed me a brochure of the new GT, that was last march but i couldn't have it. I just love it there, going back in beginning of November. What can I say. Business in Germany, rented Audi, autobahns, and Sunday with nothing to do......who wouldn't drive to Stuttgart!

I would have to scan it thus not being able to meet size requirements. The computer modified photos in the mag are badly done in my opinion:

You can see some real "spy" photos here: http://www.carpassion.com/de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5083&sid=6d92db4fd930fd99e595d7cbc2dcc723

Well, they're heading back in the right direction! I think that looks pretty good... The sloping tail reminds me of '74-'89 cars and I think the nose would look good in the flesh too.
