Dension 500S Install Help
I posted this question in another forum because not many have experience with this, but here it goes: I need help figuring out how to install my Gateway 500S into my Cayenne S that has the CD changer in the back. I also purchased the optical kit. I would be very grateful if someone could lead me in the right direction.

I'd be interested as well, I want to upgrade but I was thinking of a Pioneer with Navigation.

Not too many folk's know much or anything about this and I don't have a whole lot to contribute, but here's all I recall.
It's been about a year and I had to a number of trial and error installs, but in the end the good news is that it works. It took some time as the instructions seem to give just enough info to make me bang my head on the wall. I did an install that disabled the CD changer since the single CD player in the dash remains useable.. even though I don't use that either. My install looks basically like the one in the lower rt hand corner of the 1st page in the Dension pdf here: http://www.dension.com/sites/default/files/gateway-500s-bt-gw52xxx/en/install-guide/gateway_500sbt_install_guide.pdf However, where it shows to fiber cable in and out of the CD Changer (CDC) I used a fiber optic loop instead of plugging that into the CDC. It IS very possible to just reach behind the CDC and unplug the fiber cable, but not entirely ez. It's all done by feel. Once you have that, you need a female loop to plug into. After much trying, I could not fit the 500s behind the PCM head unit and just secured it between the glovebox and console with some zip ties. I drilled couple small holes on the rt upper side of the inside of the glovebox to attach the "Connector Port" in there and then a hole for the connector wires to exit. I don't like drilling holes but in this case I had to make exception. The writing is upsidedown like this but it is still the most elegant solution I could think of and offers ez access to the reset button which I have needed only about twice. It has a little blue LED that glows, but its inside the glovebox so it is not visible. I tucked the cable in along the bottom edge of the console from behind the dash to the front of the console... so that it exits at the bottom of the console. I used a ProClip vent mount as this offer the closest easiest viewing and control. Porsche Cayenne 2003-2010 ProClip Center Mount - ProClip USA To this vent base I added the swivel base and adjustable holder since this can hold any sized phone or device. I left a length of cable from the base of the console to plug the device in and this also affords driver or passenger the opportunity to take the phone out of the holder and operate it in their hand whilst it is still plugged in and playing. For the moment, I use an adapter to convert the old iphone connector to a lightning connector. Hope this helps a little as I too was lost in trying to piece some specific details together. Sound is perfect as can be and no static. I could make some pics if anyone is interested.

Hey airbil, Thank you very much for your detailed contribution. I'm sorry I did not show my appreciation for your reply to this thread soon after you posted. I got side tracked with other projects, but I'm eager to get this one started.
