Starting problem Cayenne S 4.8 2007
Hey guys,
Just stumbled across this forum, the way the information is layed out seems great. I skimmed through the manuals and could not find a solution to my problem, which as it seems is pretty common with Cayenne S 4.8 V8 (mine is 2007). The problem is with starting the car: When the car is cold or hash't been used for some time, it starts straight away, however after it warms up and I drive some, for example 30min in city traffic, it will have huge problems starting. Sometimes it might start with the 4th-5th crank, sometimes I have to let it cool off for 30-40min. It seems that power from the battery doesn't go to the starter, it somehow gets killed. - I've fixed the starter 3 times already (as the mechanic told me now, there is no way it can not start this time) - Installed a brand new Bosch battery - The cooling system pipes have been changed to aluminium already - It is not connected with the wheel and turning mechanism, that works fine What Ive read in other places, is that the starter has to be ordered brand new. Perhaps this has been answered already, please link me to the discussion/material. Regards, F |

Are you replacing the starter with OEM factory or aftermarket? I would suggest only use OE parts, strange, are you getting any fault codes?
