no alarm if lights left on...2008 Cayenne
There should be an alarm if I leave my lights on, and leave my Cayenne taking my key with me.
There should be an alarm if i forget and leave my key in the ignition switch I need to fix this! Is there a switch in driver's door that has failed? Where is it located? I feel silly. I've looked and looked Have you fixed this? What did you do? Dave |

I have the same issue. I think it may be a switch on the door but I do not see one. It has to be there somewhere, maybe a magnet switch or something. My interior light/door chime doesn't come on when opening the door so multiple things linked and the common denominator is a door switch.

If I understand correctly you don't hear any buzzer if you leave your lights on? How about leaving lights on and pull out the key from the switch, you should hear a buzzer. Also, with the car off and no key in the ignition switch, turn your turn signal either way (left/right). If you are not getting any buzzer at all then it's your buzzer inside your display cluster that is bad.

There is a switch in the door latch assembly. The mechanic took the door panel off. However, he didn't know the switch was in the latch

Fix is coming. I've gone to a different mechanic who diagnosed the problem quickly.
The switch is in the door latch assembly, inside the door in line with the door handle/lock. A latch is on order. |
