				G50 5sp main shaft length
			 
			Hi, are all g50 5sp main shafts the same length? . i know people shorten them but i need to go the other way and need one slightly longer at the clutch spline area. it's a g50/00 btw.   | ||

			The turbo ones are approximately 30mm longer.

			ah cool thanks.    Iv'e worked out i need a extra 15mm of spline on the shaft.    | ||

People shorten them for a variety reasons, the most common being to get clearance to put the later gearbox into a chassis that predates the G50s. For a 930 or 915 to G50 swap.

			Would any one know what grade of steel the main shaft is made from ? need to get the correct welding rods before starting to modify my shaft.   | ||
