1981 SC Turbo - 930/51

I said I would never sell my 1981 SC Turbo but lately I've been thinking about moving on.
You can tell me what she's worth or beat me up, just looking for opinions.
I don't have much documentation before my purchase in early 2014 but have put together this:
This 1981 SC was built for show about 10 years ago, pulled down to tub, steel flairs added, glass out original paint color, white leather interior with momo wheel, ruf door handles, chrome rockers, thick blue carpet, etc. Most parts are chrome plated(starter, sway bars, spring plates, axles, etc) or powder coated(white control arms, fuel tank, transmission, engine parts). Engine is a 1976*930/51 (1 of 530 USA Turbo)** SN#6860370 and was built with twin plug heads, twinfire ignition, K27 7006 turbo and RUF intercooler. Running cis with one 044 fuel pump, BL wur, 009 injectors, original wastegate, 964 blowoff valve, dial of death, Lm2 a/f meter and gauge, Powerhaus headers and zork. 930 4 speed transmission and clutch in good shape. I added the Retroair ac and mocal 44 row oil cooler and a set of euromiester wheels.
Used mainly for shows it is kept in garage, under cover most of the time. She has won her share of awards at local shows even in West Texas.
Need to do some better photos.

I love it. Would like to see a more close up shot of that center console.

This is a very well done project!

I think it's a very nice car, but white interior with white gauges and white steering wheel is a bit Tony Montanaish imho. Some of the cost of changing to a different color scheme might end up being factored in.

There is no way this sells to someone who then spends additional money to change the interior color. The white is hot, it looks really good. While interior color is a subjective matter, there would be plenty of interested parties in this car exactly as it is. There will never be the need to discount this car for altering something like that. Now if the interior condition was in question that’s another story, but for color alone that’s never gonna happen.

Buy a half bay intercooler and sell the Ruf. No idea what it is worth but someone who needs it will pay. As there are no other Ruf parts should not effect value so much. The TurboKraft half bay is more capacity than the Ruf.

Really hard to place a value on it. FWIW the rear spoiler is a DP unit or a copy of one.

I like the interior, wouldn't stop me if I was in the market for this sort of car. The dial of death is a bigger turn off for me, having had my issues with the destruction that dial can cause, many years ago.

I love the white interior! Think white linen sport coat and loafers without socks - Miami Vice. You drive an 80's car, why not have an 80's interior.

Been offered big $$$ several times for this but will keep it old school for now. Will let the next owner deal with it.

Has DP printed into the rubber so I think that is DP. The fiberglass is warped and doesn't fit well, has been on my bucket list for a while but afraid to ship another one across country just to find out it is warped also.
Love the white leather.

Anybody want to venture a $$ number - I won't hold you to it.

Think you can get in $50s to upper $40s. Tough one to peg. 76 Turbo Engine and RUF intercooler are positive. Interior is going to hold it back IMO (love/hate).

After consideration and a little research, I think $50 is a pretty good start. Swapping the steering wheel for a black one would really change the look and tone it down. I have an 88 coupe with Linen interior which is pretty close to white and I love it.

Valid point on the warping of the spoiler / deck lid. I am sure its an expensive piece and I would hate to buy one only to find out its also warped. Can you heat to carefully and work it straighter?

The 76 engine is a plus but its so far from a stock 76 engine not sure it matters.

The car is a really nice looking car and will attract buyers. Great way to get into a turbo without the full turbo price.

Quick question.... anything done with the brakes? If they were upgraded too, I would make sure to mention that, it would be a nice plus too. AC blow cold?

I'm in the market for a car like this but to be honest, I'd strip and redo the interior. So, at least for me, the price would have to reflect the work I'd have to put in to sourcing new seats, door panels, guage faces, and everything else.

There's so much white bashing here...jeez. Yeah, maybe it should've had black interior like every other friggin 911. I doubt this Is the car for you BLACK3.2 if you'd redo a perfectly good interior. I bet this car sells easier with the white interior, than if it had black interior.

Let the market decide. This car is an outlaw and outlaws have always been of the current era. Older outlaw builds always look dated.

Great, lovely exterior (Baltic Blue?) and the stance is about perfect. Looks the business with proper Fuchs and not supersized goofy assed megawheels (keeps the gearing and unsprung mass lower too). Boxed rockers add rigidity and paint protection and fender vents help cooling. Nice.
Tone down the interior with at least a black wheel and gauges and you’re good to go.

I’d keep the interior. I’d redo the wheel and the center console, but the seats would stay.

Trader 220 mentioned the brakes. I think these are 930 rotors and brembo calipers:
As far as heating the fiberglass tail to straighten it - never tried it.....have you?
Retroair ac was new about 4 years ago, works great........40* from the vents on 100* day in West Texas. The next 5 days forecast 101* - 104*.
Big car show this weekend will give me a chance to talk to a few guys that have shown an interest in the past, also a couple of PCA guys.
Thinking of working up an ad for Bring-a-trailer. I have seen good results on their auctions.
Painted factory color Pacific Blue.
Considered parting out a few things in the past to upgrade to EFI and COP but decided to keep it as is.
The RUF intercooler could bring 3k.
Twin Distributor about the same.
Twin 8 pin CD boxes about 800ea.
Cast row fuel distributor and BL wur 1k.
