CIS worth

Removing it from a very well running car to install PMO carbs total rebuild also for more power and peace of mind since no history but she pulls very hard .

Just not sure the worth , I had the car for around 1.5 years never failed to start and runs strong . Never any issues but I know nothing about it before my purchase execpt blow off installed before I bought .

What your thoughts on price . I could video it running before the install of the build and PMO again very strong during my ownership .

12 years ago about $100.

That was then this is now.

It's a 42 year old system. I wouldn't get too excited.

Less than zero. Nobody is pining for used CIS systems.

If the car runs well with it, never any issues, why on earth are you removing it?

As my brother used to tell me when selling cars, "there's an ass for every seat".. someone looking to restore his/her car to original, someone looking to put some spare parts on his bench, everything is able to be sold. To the OP's question, EBay it (advertise here/6 Speed/Rennlist/etc.) and see how high the bids go.. that's the number.

you might say the year.

personally I like the 76-79 systems the best.
the 78-79 had larger runners so someone with ported heads would like it.

$400-500

if It is a lambda system with all the electronics you might get a little more.,

if you want to donate it or unload it cheap, give it to tony.

^500 if clean. If dirty, 300.

There was a 2.7 long block for cheap on the classified. Someone needs this.

I sold a few CIS systems. I sold the whole setup off a running car for $300 five years ago. I noticed many people did not want the whole system and only wanted the Fuel distributor or the WUR, etc. So the next one I sold it piecemeal and did much better on it. I sold the fuel distributor alone for $400.

Considering it would cost about a grand to have the fuel distributor fixed at your local Porsche shop that is a smokin' deal. Friend just resurrected a 77 Targa, I think the shop bill for the FD was around $1200

Great example of how the mind works and selling in bits makes more money.

As I said $500 would be a no-hassle price. You'd get people on it at this price.

If you parted it you'd be able to sell the 1) WUR, 2) Fuel Distributor, 3) Airbox, 4) Warm up valve, 5) Intakes, 6) Misc Lines (not really worth anything, neither are the intakes, but someone may need them if yours are clean and shiny), rubber boot, etc.

I've been selling off my CIS extra parts as I don't need them though I am keeping my CIS. I believe they are worth far more if you can verify that they are working. I had old pieces that sat for many, many years and Tony bought most of them.

You can get around $125 for the Fuel Distributor, $100 for the WUR, $200 for the airbox, etc etc - maybe more, and piecemeal it and maybe end up with $700. But if it's a working system there would be takers as CIS is great and I am a big fan of it. If it's a working system sell it as a working system and sell it higher and save someones day.

If it's working and you know it's working, sell it as working, and it could seriously save someone's butt because tracking down all working parts for CIS is a crapshoot. I'd sell it as one complete unit - you will pocket some money, and someone will be very grateful for it.

‘78-‘79 large port complete setups bring decent money for those who want early SC large port heads/runners and the higher flow FD, I think I paid $600.00 a few years ago for a complete setup in good condition.
