The prices are a bit low. These cars will eat up 15k in a hurry. |
The best thing you can do for yourself, your son and the widow is get in a car or plane and go see the car. You can't reasonably expect to put a fair price on it for all involved without doing so. For tens of thousands of dollars in the car price, a few plane tickets are worth it. It would be great to have a mechanic or knowledgable buddy tag along.
My mechanic tipped me to a 911 a few years ago for my son, as he knew my son was trying to upgrade from his 944. I asked him to go with us to check it out. We put it on a lift and all 3 of us went through the car for an hour or so. It had issues, but the price was what he could afford. He bought the car, and we slipped the mechanic $500. Well, well worth it in longterm goodwill and peace of mind. Go see the car. Good father/son road trip anyway. Maybe a nearby fellow Pelican would volunteer to go with you. GL |
