Quick value question, 1974 euro carrera shell

Hello,
thanks for reading.

I am contemplating dismissing myself of the 74 euro carerra shell I have.

The shell is quite straight but does have minor amounts of rust in the typical spots. It's just a shell, quarters were cut off improperly at some point but the rails are mostly intact. Overall, pretty solid.

Here's the caveat. This was a project that was intended to be a resto with myself and a friend years ago. We took a car that had been poorly modified all apart and sold off most everything in anticipation of the restoration.
Unfortunately my friend passed away a few years ago and I have never actually seen the title and his family can't find it either.

The VIN for the chassis is: 9114600664

I'm not sure if I can ever get a replacement title.

I know pictures would help a lot but I have the chassis stored off site. I can provide them after I get a chance to get to storage.

What I'm asking the forum for is some sort of basic value range.

Thanks for your help,

Toddc

More valuable than an average shell.... of course the 911/83 motor is what makes it special....

There are Carrera shells all over.

1) No motor - minus $70000
2) No flares (which makes it a Carrera) - minus $2000
3) No title - minus pretty much everything that's left.

I would say nothing to $5K.

Put carbon parts all over it, write it off as a business promotional car. :-)

Minor rust in the usual spots - That can mean a lot of different things.

If it is just a tub with no title - 5k may be generous.

Not a direct comp, but close enough.

I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on the Interwebs, but if it's part of an estate, then I believe all interested parties would have to sign off on the sale of the chassis. The ultimate purchaser would otherwise risk an heir popping up with an ownership claim after the car is all back together.

I have heard of such things happening...

Value is a good solid $5K with all the legal "hair" taken off the deal, IMO.
