For that price, they better have plenty of maintenance receipts.

It was bid to a $600K hammer price in Monterey. Many of us wondered why the owner didn't take the money and run...

I thought the Porsche prototypes were worth $21,000,000.00?

Or, buy this car, restore and be in the money.

And here I though you had found a RUF built, turbopowa' 912 or something, and not just a prototype for Grandpa's grocery getter, Phat!

Mecum did a good job of false Bids on this car,
Also Jeff Trask and I looked at this car and he believes there is a lot that says different that this car is not what it is said to be.

Does a 1966 912 like this one = a 1965 356 for around the same money? I don't think so. Some people might, but I don't think so.

I won't even read a listing like that. Jesus, learn what a paragraph is.

I disagree, 912s are coming into their own. There were so many trashed cars and cars used to restore 911s that nice ones are becoming rare, thus the really nice ones will command a premium.

From the ad. Stripped to bare metal, windows out and respayed to a very high standard.

Yet they chose to paint over the nuts to the engine lid lock and door stops.

If you are going to call it R, please don't use a LWB S front bumper. Not a fan of R front fenders either, but that's just me.

That's a car I would very happily drive at low speeds.

Good thing, because that's the car's only available speed, Matt (well, technically two speeds - low and lower)!

It sure would look good going super slow, however (the 912, not you!)!

^^^ It only assists in off line acceleration. Once you reach 3 Mph you have exceeded the velocity of the exhaust pulses in such a puny engine.
