Yeah there’s likely a reason the previous owner repainted the whole car, which in itself on average is scary as hell. Chances are he did a crap job.

Amazing that a bottle of Armor All adds $25K to the price.

Looking at the "clean" carfax I also doubt the mileage is correct.

It grates my nerves so badly when they say "it's in great shape for a xx year old car". No, mother****er, it's either in great shape, period, or it's not, nobody cares for your interpretation of what a xx year old car should look like today.

Given such an error, assuming it is the case here but not implying it is, car looks fine from the pics, is never corrected by the car fax "fixers" employed by every dealer, is an Interweb outing the new game then ?

There is nothing to fix on the carfax. Plenty of cars out there that have been banged around and it doesn't show on the carfax. The only way carfax would know is if there is a police report or an insurance claim.

Insurance claims until recently weren’t showing up. It’s showing up more and more these days and it’s being heavily discussed as it’s all being done unknowingly

There is no shame from these dealers who are mostly out of Florida.

It's a wrecked car the mechanic originally got from an auction, then it passed through the eBay owner who used it as a hobby car and replaced things (there is no record of anything done before this at all), then some shady characters buy it and ship it Florida where they add $25K to the price by using copious amounts of Amor All, replace the wheels. The lies started with the eBay listing and have perpetuated to the point of absurdity.

I'm sure it would pull very strong money on BaT though. So the dealer has that going for them which is nice.

Yeah, I always feel there is a standard being applied that we might have for a beater/daily driver. My wife's 2010 Subaru is in great shape for a 9 year-old car driven daily. It is not in as good shape as my 1989 911 which isn't driven in all weather conditions.

I was referring more to your erroneous mileage claim about the car.

Again, interweb outing vs carfax. What's the end game here ?

How do you know the car was in an accident ?
Pictures look fine to me. Can you circle what you think you see?

This Porsche was peaking my interest so I am glad I found this thread. Thanks for posting.

Sugarwood the left gap on the deck lid is not the same as the right. The gap under the "Porsche" reflector also appears off. Finally the left and right tail lights are not fitting flush particularly the right. Very poor repair job.
