My ‘74 Carrera Targa is live on BAT

Ok I’m giving BAT a try so we will see how this goes. It’s a shame to let this beauty go but I’m severely over budget on my house’s remodel so I have no choice. Wish me luck. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-porsche-911-28/?utm_source=transactionalemail&utm_medium=email&ut m_campaign=bat_bid_placed_seller

Cool. Looks like you better keep CVLC on your side.
He’s pointing out everything down to the frunk carpet that’s not correct.

I want friends like that too.
Because I don’t care enough or have the time to know what the exact date Porsche changed the steering wheel thickness.
I don’t care about sport stats, car stats, or any minute details

Not trying to be snarky but all his comments are common knowledge to middie enthusiasts. Things like the fat grip, seat knobs or blue black carpet are very often discussed. It’s not deep minutiae.

No trust me I feel super dumb that I missed things like the rear seat uppers and front seat side release knobs. My biggest confusion is everyone on here promoting the fatty steering wheel so I got super confused that it was an option on the symmetrical steering wheel not the standard grip. If it’s the standard it should just be referred to as the early symmetrical 3 spoke wheel. Tomato tomatoe I suppose. It’s like sunroof delete lol. The midnight I’m aware of and he was incorrect as I did mention it in my description. I guess I was more impressed by the little details that he picked up on. He must really be looking hard. Little things like no cut out for the vin on the trunk liner. Giving me a hard time on a 1/74 spare. Geez Lol. I bet he’s a concours judge. Matt you are very similarly keen to details and probably why you are not impressed

I’m just saying he’s not some Carrera whisperer. It’s a nice car. I’m Sure you’ll do fine with it even with all the “incorrect” things. I think the biggest hit it lack of numbers matching and TMU. I’m interested to see where it ends up.

Love the color. I don't think anyone bidding is worried about the overspray on the tool kit , # matching and TMU. This looks to be a exceptionally nice restored driver. Best of luck with sale Nathanbs. Hope you get all the money.

At least it comes with the tool kit. Don’t even get started on the sunroof delete fiasco. And yes- very nice Carrera.

"@carsinc @nathanbs It seems hard to believe but the oil cooler was NOT standard on the US Carrera, it was in fact a $330 option. Ideally a 2.7 should have one as high oil temperatures is one (of many!) of the reasons 2.7’s didn’t have the life expectancy of the later 3.0 and 3.2 liter motors."

yeah i only took it to several local events and home on several weekends. I favor driving my Talbot Yellow Carrera 3.0 with its twin plug engine. Color is unbelievable and I wish to find a coupe in the same color some day

Yes; they are a silly "cooler" that was probably some Porsche designer's idea of a joke.
