Modified 68 911 coupe value

I'm looking at a 68 911 Coupe that was last running in the 80s , has been in dry storage since. Original engine and trans. Not sure about rust.

The car has been modified to a widebody using steel flares and the back bumper is an updated G model with reflector. Front is still a long hood. The entire interior is in tact and usable. It's all there, complete car.

That's pretty much all I know about the car right now. I understand...not much info and no pictures to share at this moment.

But, if the car is not too rusty, what do you guys think it's worth? I am going to look at it tomorrow and just need a starting point on an offer if I like it and want to take it on.

That's a tough one to value. Here's a recent comp. I'm thinking in the $20s if no major rust and engine turns over. Maybe in the $30s if it's real nice.

Really not enough information. Is it a T, and L or an S for starters? The rust needs to be known to really value it.

The seller doesn't know what model it is and I won't either until I go look at it.

Let's say it's a T and has some rust in the normal places...what would you value it at?

How about if it has no rust at all, then what would it's value be?

If the car is fairly solid and the engine turns over by hand I want to put in an offer on the spot, so I am just looking for a range. I know there is not enough info here. From the 2 pictures he sent me, the body looks solid. Not sure of the underside.

I was thinking what Specialtyoneinc stated as value (20s to 30) but would like other opinions to be sure.

don't be afraid of rust or modified body work. all of that can be corrected.
"original engine & trans" is the key here. if true... and that's a big IF... that's where the value is.
$25K + or - if true.
how does the seller know the engine & trans are original ?
with a claim like this & only 2 pictures it sounds like a wild goose chase, but I'm a card carrying sceptic
one more thing that's tricky about '68 is all of the one-year-only interior stuff.

L/H market is soft, excepting the exceptional stuff of course. Are you sure its a 911 ?

Mid 30's gets you a running driving T with a little rust work needed work but overall a solid driver.

No rust car could be anything. I dont think the S cars were sold in the US That year ?

You’re right. I left off the normal. ROW got T and S we didn’t see. We only got normal and L.

I agree on $25ish to start and as high as $50k depending what it really is.

Even if I posted the 2 pictures I have it wouldn't tell you anymore than I already wrote in this thread.
No interior, undercarriage, or engine pictures. Just a bad side and back shot. No emblem on rear deck lid either.

I have a 68S Targa, it was widebodied in 73 with 7&9 Fuchs.It needs paint. 60k$ would be a gift, although over 1/2 that number is for the S.

I think I understand your question. If I was you, I would bring 20,000$ in one pocket, and 5000$ in each of the other 3 pockets.

Check out the car. If it’s a T, try the 20k$. If it’s and S, then give him all your money and leave quickly with the car .

Boston CL car in Newington NH..... so many unknown variables. New Hampshire/New England climate was not nice to 68 911s even when they were relatively new. Unlikely its an S. Probably a $25k car ready to eat up your reserves.

Based on the pics, someone liked the car at one time & ATS 1's are not super common makes me think the 'Parts' mentioned in the ad are worth investigation.

I had a 68 912 in Boston for two years in the early 70's. It rusted before my eyes. Tread very carefully.

I sold a set of those ATS wheels a few years back for a pretty penny.
