84 and 82 Porsche value

Hi have these two cars taking up space, keep Putting off the work needed to bring them back to life. Red one is an 84. Mostly there 3.2 engine and 82 trans for it but not in car. Beige one was a targa someone turned into cab. No motor or trans. Both clean titles in my name. What would the groupe think on price for them. They are projects. Thanks Glenn

in this soft market you can get a running driving SC for under 30k. I'd say mid - high teens for the red Targa, if you find someone looking for a targa hot rod base.

5-7k for the beige roller depending on rust.

Take a look in the FS section. There are some pretty similar rolling chassis comps. There's also a rough 3.2 targa that needs substantial body work that the seller has had listed for 2+ months that can't even get $17k for it, even though it runs and drives.

Canadian border provides a $2-3k price drop for US buyers.

Not sure why there would be a problem at boarder. Sold one last year was no problem crossing. But he did pick it up on Canandian side the drove it across. If I was to sell I am sure I could ship it from the states. I’m close to a crossing and would trailer it to the states. Thanks

You are confusing perception with reality. The reality is that getting a car across the border isn't terribly difficult. The perception is that it is a hassle. It's not like this is some pristine car in a rare color. It's just another couple of rough parts cars/projects like you see all over the place.

In order to attract most US buyers that would require some sort of discount. If I saw these cars at the exact same price as a roller in Florida or Texas I wouldn't even click into the ad and look at the details. I'd just scroll on by, as would many others.

I'm pretty sure that US Customs & Border Protection won't allow this (I asked about it a couple of years ago) - a car being imported has to be imported by the buyer. I'm not 100% on this, but if it ever becomes a real issue for you it's worth checking.

I just brought a non running 911 across in June in a trailer. Title signed over to my name with a Bill of Sale, paid the tax and customs checked the papework and VIN at the border. Relatively painless.
