Anyone have results from Barrett Jackson
While Mecum kissimmee had OK results I’m hearing barrett jackson is nearly a train wreck..
Im very interested in the result for the 79 930 with incorrect gauges among other issues..

Results are listed on their website. ‘79 sold for 88k. Custom ‘86 sold for 153k. I wouldn’t call that a train wreck. The weakest 930 so far has probably been the ’88 slant nose Turbo Cab at Worldwide, it was only bid to 120k. Though it was erroneously marketed as usual, claimed far more were made than actually were. Is it so difficult to get the facts correct before going to auction? I’d be pissed if I paid for the shipping (both ways since it didn’t sell) and the entry fee, while the auction house screws up the marketing so bad that there’s not enough interest in my car to move it. These auctions are such a f..in crapshoot I don’t know why anyone would ever proceed without a reserve...

You can’t just value a car based on dollars per hp, it obviously doesn’t work that way. If that Chicago 930 was auctioned off right after the one that sold for 153k at the very same auction, it would bring sub 100k. The BJ custom is probably worth close to two of the other one, at least in its current form. The interest in a 930 like that is few and far between, owners of these over built 930s will never ever get their money back out of them. It’s burning money. |

I don't know why anyone would take a Porsche to Scottsdale. They always seem to be more well sold at Amelia, and even better at Monterey.

Especially considering BJ won’t let you put a reserve on it unless it’s especially unique and valuable, and very few 930s qualify. I’d never sell my cars there either.

Super high miles on the 1st one, no shock there at the sale price.
That 2nd one sounds like it doesn’t have its original engine anymore. Whatever this means...”The original Type 930/68 engine was replaced with a series-correct power unit at approximately 38,000 miles.” Never heard the term ‘series-correct power unit’ before, that’s a new one to me. |

Big prices seem to be back. The above prices seem way more than BAT! Not that I would want many of them to keep as I sold many similar ones over the decades., just glad I bought my keepers long ago.

'92 RS (not RSA) just went for $295k. That seems to be close to "all the money" IMHO.
