I give it to you that the caveman clubhouse is a more nurturing playground with one true and sympathetic expert, a handful of players on more or less equal footing and at least one whom the rest simply suffer and tolerate .... mind you, this is just how an outside observer like myself interpreted the dynamic of the interactions in the increasingly endangered caveman threads.

I can see how it's nice to have such a warm and welcoming sandbox,a safe zone so to speak, one can play in without getting stomped for being a fool, albeit at a caveman type level, for example.

after consulting a one time sensei of mine he reminded me in order for you to break free you must exhibit respectful defiance. he though best in this instance you need to use boldened font in your next CIS post you two inhabit together. this way you honor him by demonstrating how you are using his passive aggressive & 70's era foo injection training.

he'll be pissed and pleased concurrently...
You misunderstood my question. My query about the CIS clubhouse you referenced was about how it got that way to begin with. Even forum "greats", present company excluded (sorry Raw, though there used to be a dude called Ron or something !), who used to participate don't anymore... cause or effect ? Given you seem to have been around the various tech forum clubhouses for eons under different guises ... do tell us ... what happened ?

Where is the CIS Clubhouse? Do they have Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap?

EDITED: deleted my criticism of that fine young lady's lady junk... I objectified her and that was wrong of me.

I am thinking a "dead pool" sort of lottery as to when does this extraordinary tale of a thread earn it's closure by moderator status should be considered? im not going to hasten it's instant infamy status or anything by snitching it out... nutz? but let's face, this running through the fields naked sort of fun can't last forever.

this? this thread like many a beautiful thing must & will die at some point. raw's posting of misaligned bolders and Lonestar beer clearly signaled the end for me. I say by tomorrow about 15 minutes after the pelican staff meeting via conference call with the philly fun police it hangs high... so between 9 AM and 1 pm 4/18/19 PDT...

call your shot friends!

I got $400 for a complete, early 78-79 big intake runner system a couple years back. it was a nightmare to package and ship.

Thank you,
Joe

Isn't it about time you show us that perfect CIS system ?

Rawknees'Turbo 04-17-2019 07:25 PM

A perfect CIS system is one that has been replaced with EFI!

No, I'm in continuously rainy, hot, and grossly humid North TexASS (where yet another big ol' storm is kicking off right about now). This place SUX!!!

pmax 04-17-2019 07:56 PM

You gotta move to the foothills, dude, join the caveman.

Rawknees'Turbo 04-17-2019 08:06 PM

^^^

The caveman might get a knock on his door, and see a Guards Red box truck towing a vintage Turbo (not a My Little Pony colored one either, and shiit!!!) parked in his driveway, one of these days!

juanbenae 04-18-2019 08:28 AM

you'd be welcome anytime raw.

really liking this place and am planning on making an offer in a few weeks when the escrow on my house closes. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/17244-Nile-River-Dr-Sonora-CA-95370/16201834_zpid/

not a ton of room in the main house for guests, but the mancave (see what I did there?) and the studio above the garage will provide the additional space for visitors. the RV barn is also very appealing for trailer storage and parking my truck that I don't planning on driving a bunch during the summer up there with the 911 and jeep.

if I don't land this one I will be renting a studio in TW from my buddy and will have a hard time hosting until I find "my forever" home... a pelican fly in event will be offered up when I get settled in to be sure wherever I end up up there.

Rawknees'Turbo 04-18-2019 10:39 AM

Yo' Tobs, may I bring pNutz? Deep down that bisch really wants to explore the caveman ways (I hear he wants to see a proper, caveman's mancave, too)! I think he's house trained, but don't know for sure!

pmax 04-18-2019 11:14 AM

... doesn't look like Porsche country to me over in the foothills...

that's nonsense raw. he won't even drive across town here in the so bay to go for a qwik ride in my car! not sure what scares him the most, being seen around town with a caveman, or that he may discover carbs ARE really where it's at...

regarding the foothills not being for the 911 life? that's hogwash! although I have not had the car up there yet I have done a number of supermoto bike rides up there and the roads are the bomb. unlike what skyline, highways 9 & 84 and the other twisties up in the santa cruz mountains have become in the recent years there was not a prius to be seen.

pmax 04-18-2019 11:58 AM

.... caveman could have gotten this had he kept the CIS !

I'm pretty sure that pNutz is worried that his nutz would pinch up, maybe even becoming innies , if he were to add +/- 70 hp, and similar torque, to his CIS machine (a realistic, low boost power bump if using the non-turbo pistons - lower static compression with a pistons change, and the power gains can be made much higher with the ability to run more boost pressure). :)

Simple enough even .... never mind.

Look at the pnutzack dangling beneath the pistons

Rawknees'Turbo 04-18-2019 08:48 PM

^^^

Ha ha - good one pNutz! I love that gif! :D

Ha ha, and you two Nathan! Hilarious!

One thing the animation is missing is a blow off valve (or recirculation valve, in the case of CIS systems); that is used to prevent the compressor wheel from stalling during sudden closed throttle, and possibly being damaged (would also create turbo lag and poor throttle response). The dude that built the system you posted a pic of has his plumbed back into the intake side (prior to the compressor inlet) - the blue hose that goes from the compressor output pipe to the compressor input pipe. That is necessary with CIS, as opposed to just venting the air pressure from the output pipe to atmosphere, because of the way that CIS works (venting to atmosphere creates an overly rich condition by allowing more air past the air metering arm/disk than the engine actually needs at the time).

pmax 04-18-2019 09:48 PM

^^^ makes sense. The blow off  valve sends the excess air back to the inlet hence reducing the fuel flow via the metering plate, everything still measured in proportion. If anything, these CIS setups are elegant simplicity in action.
