Decklid on the car I just bought - worth anything?
1st time Porsche owner, finally pulled the trigger on a 74 Targa Roller. This decklid doesn't suit my needs. It's a metal lid and looks to be of decent quality wing. Anybody know what it is and it is worth listing for sale?

Man, it's hilarious that someone would put that style of wing on a skinny mini 74, and with a turbo badge, as well!

It actually has turbo flares and looks like it did have a turbo at some point.

is the entire thing forward dated like the rear to 964 body work?
regarding the tail. is saying "it won't fit my needs" a nice way of saying it's fugly? with all due respect, I hang old deck lids, hoods and even complete doors at one point in my garage as décor, yet would never hang that thing up. id reach for the Sawzall so I could get it to fit into my sh@t can. just the fiberglass anyway. somewhere under that rice is prolly a decent steel lid that could be rehabbed and save from it's current disgrace. I did state "with all due respect" ![]()

Well I wasn't going to call it fugly if there was any chance to sell it. And I wouldn't put it on my wall either. I just thought I'd ask before I used it for a core for a Stratton Ducktail,
And Yes, it looks 964 all the way up, all the way down to the lights in the fenders I have to weld up the holes for. Last edited by sedouglas72; 04-16-2019 at 04:15 PM.. |

there's no accounting for some peoples taste, take pnutz here for example... but it can't hurt to put it in the classifieds here to see if someone bites, better yet EBAY. problem is shipping would cost so much and for what it could be worth my vote remains Sawzall... from a marketing stand point maybe take it off the car, remove it from the decklid to see if it looks better stand alone in the driveway? or better yet after it's been removed get some bikini clad dames to hold it enticingly?? ![]()

I agree that it’s either a local sale or trash, shipping will cost more than it’s worth. I also concur how fugly it is.

I think the top portion may have come off a JDM Integra Type R Honda. In that case it could be worth sh-tloads!

I always find people with extra $100 bills on Craigslist for these things... Plus your 93+ bumpers and reflectors will be good for someone as well!
