1982 SC Coupe Price
90K miles, black on black, no sunroof, no whale tail.
Driver's seat has some tears. Dash is good, carpets are good. Original paint, no rust. Other than oil changes, tires, brakes and chain tensioners not a lot of maintenance records to speak of, even though current owner has had it for over a decade. He says it takes some effort to get from 1st to 2nd. What would be a fair price? I know there are several variables and obviously would get a PPI. Seller is asking $32K. On teh surface that sounds pretty good, but if it needs a transmission rebuild, add another what $3-5K. And the deferred maintenance will be several $K as well, I assume. On the other hand, $30K-ish for an air cooled coupe with under 100K miles is very tempting, even if I have to put in some money to have it where I want it. Thoughts? |

Sounds like a fair price. No sunroof and original paint are great positives.

If you a buy a fully rebuilt 915 its more like 6-8K minus your core. Get into the engine and you could be 15K-20K into a full rebuild.
That said in todays market 30K isn't bad, though from my vantage point prices seem to have slowed on normal driver cars. |
