Dash is pristine. A complete straight original car unlike the rusted out hulks in the pic I posted earlier, I say there's extra value here. |

Some POR15, rustoleum, floor pans. No big deal.
Cheap driver. $800 in sheet metal, see link. https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/SuperCat/5837/POR_5837_BDYCHS_pg2.htm |
Everyone who says cars like this shouldn't and can't be restored is lacking vision. Same as everyone saying a car like this has no value. Luckily you aren't arguing with me on this point, you're arguing with the market, and the market always has the last word.
I sold this car a few weeks ago for $9600, that's value. And before a few of you come out of holes and say things like "there's a sucker born every minute" or "only an idiot would buy that car" I remind you of the story I've told for years about a friend who bought a car in the early 80s for $10,000, everyone laughed at him, it was burned and missing the motor, he would never get his money out, he'd be upside down forever. He worked slow but steady and the car is now almost restored. The car is 550-0054, and I don't think he's upside down on the value. Decades from now rough 356's will be restored, and the world will be a better place because of it. ---Adam http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1565788996.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1565788996.jpg |
Newsflash: Nobody said it "shouldn't and can't be restored."
What we said is that it will take more than a little POR15 and rubbing compound. There's a huge section of the chassis missing on this car. It will be a major project, requiring fabrication skills almost nobody on this forum possesses. Somebody early in the thread put a value of $10k, which seems about right--and is consistent with your eBay sale. |

I called Yard Art. IMO; that was very high praise because I was thinking about it being located in my yard........
Obviously; anything can be restored. It has been proven and documented countless times..... What is it worth.... strictly up to the buyer.... what as the seller should you ask? I do not think you would find more of an authority than Adam........ |

I'm admiring the coolness of the compost pile in the front seats! |
That's not compost, it's virgin prairie topsoil kicked into the car through the nonexistent floor pans by a groundhog whose hole is directly under the tunnel.
