Latter is a mushy mess of design elements from different eras and purpose compared to this.

I clarified that for you pmax, just so that we all know exactly where you stand on the matter. This could be THE dumbest post ever in the history of this forum!

It’s not surprising though when your signature is “I can’t afford it”. Jealousy is a b!tch, so if you can’t afford it you might as well trash it I guess it. What a shame.

Still a mess !
Take the front bumper for instance ... really ? I see folks lining up to install this thing of beauty on their cars.

Your opinions are what’s the mess. You stand alone with that ridiculous opinion of yours. Even the airbagger wouldn’t agree with you.

You’re totally right. Compared to the idiotic crap you constantly spew, most of us are boring in comparison.

Please change your name to PNUTZ because that’s what you are my strange little friend.

not this guy. that bumper is confused. and ugly.

but that stance tho! wow!!....

I must be really dysfunctional, as I don't like the looks of that weird Singer or the baby-crib-blue stanced mobile (mainly the wheels that look ridiculous to the extreme).

Not at all. Both are pretty extreme looking I just found extreme humor in Wingnut saying that the Singer was worse

ADDvanced 07-09-2019 05:37 AM

The singer is busier. The fender flares look like generic ZX flares, and have a postie, geometric curvature on the surface that is not found anywhere else on the car. I don't really like it.

Matt Monson 07-09-2019 05:53 AM

But Singer’s designers have hundreds of hours of education. Why isn’t it ideal?

That is a good question. I think they're pushing too far. The first singers were the best. This new one looks like a hot mess IMHO.

I must disagree with you and pmax. The Singer DLS is supposed to look raw...sort of a throwback to the 934. A reimagined throwback 934 if you must. The regular Singers are pretty cars but the DLS is not supposed to be. To each their own but personally the DLS is a lot better looking(to me) than a regular Singer.

like his fear of carbs and love of CIS. what nutz does not understand scares him and ultimately he hates for no reason other than his closed, single mindedness.

I still believe it's due to an overbearing wife that "lets" him wear the pants as long as she can declare the color of said trousers...

Seeing stanced cars never bums me out. Usually not a huge issue to put them back to stock, as long as "frame rails" haven't been notched or any other goofiness. 964s get the treatment because they're coilover cars to start with - easy to put an airbag setup on them. That, and Porsche purist nerds poo-pood em forever, so I think more than a couple of these stancebros bought in when they were cheap.

As for handling, etc - I've heard you can set up an airbag car to ride okay but I imagine it has to hurt performance to some degree. I imagine it's bad-comfortable (soft & cushy) rather than bad-harsh.

Some of the best comments in BAT history on that auction. :D

I agree, the DLS is not meant to appeal to classic Porsche Purists, I believe its meant to be radical and edgy enough to try and compete with exotic hypercars. Keep in mind its price tag puts it in that stratosphere. It definitely could sit next to your late model GT2 RS and not look out of place.

Macroni 07-09-2019 08:51 AM

I would not kick it out of my garage for dripping oil on the floor.....

JMS935 07-09-2019 09:05 AM

Have any of you even seen the DLS Singer in person? It’s a super star amongst super stars. I saw it at a Porsche show surrounded by some of the rarest and most exotic Porsches in existence, and I could not even take a clean photo of the DLS due to the massive crowd of people gathering around it. There was no other car attracting anywhere near that kind of crowd, not at the show nor at any other Porsche event I’ve ever attended. In my opinion, it is one of the most substantial air cooled 911’s ever built even though Porsche didn’t build it. So let’s keep comparing it to a slammed and bagged 964 that couldn’t even break the 40k mark on BaT. This is a delusional discussion in that regard.
